The Winter Solstice is a significant day as it is the birthday of Yuqing, the Heavenly Worthy of Primal Origination (Yuanshi Tianzun), the highest Taoist deity. It is the day to pray for blessings and seek forgiveness for the sins of lone souls in hell from the Heavenly Worthy of Primal Origination.
